Important Safety Information

Please read this disclaimer carefully before participating in any classes or services at StudioTer Yoga. By participating in our programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this disclaimer.

Assumption of Risk

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Yoga involves physical activity that may result in injury. By participating, you acknowledge and assume all risks associated with yoga practice.

Yoga practice involves physical movements, stretches, and poses that may cause injury if performed incorrectly or without proper preparation. Risks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Muscle strains, sprains, or tears
  • Joint injuries including knees, shoulders, wrists, and spine
  • Falls or loss of balance
  • Aggravation of pre-existing conditions or injuries
  • Cardiovascular events (in rare cases)
  • Dehydration or overheating

You understand that these risks cannot be eliminated despite the care taken by StudioTer and its instructors.

Medical Consultation

Consult your physician before beginning any exercise program, including yoga. This is especially important if you:

  • Are pregnant or nursing
  • Have any medical conditions or injuries
  • Are taking medications that may affect your ability to exercise
  • Have not exercised regularly in the past
  • Are over 45 years of age (men) or 55 years of age (women)
  • Have a history of heart problems, high blood pressure, or other cardiovascular conditions

You represent that you are physically fit enough to participate in yoga classes and that you have no medical condition that would prevent your participation.

Personal Responsibility

Listen to Your Body

You are responsible for monitoring your own condition throughout any activity. You should:

  • Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or nausea
  • Inform the instructor of any discomfort or limitations
  • Respect your body's limits and avoid pushing beyond them
  • Take breaks whenever needed
  • Stay hydrated and maintain proper breathing

Disclosure of Health Information

You must disclose any relevant health conditions, injuries, or physical limitations to your instructor before class begins. This includes recent surgeries, chronic conditions, or any changes to your health status.

Instruction and Modifications

Our instructors are trained and certified in yoga instruction, but they are not medical professionals. They cannot diagnose conditions or provide medical advice. Instructor guidance includes:

  • General alignment cues and modifications
  • Suggestions for pose variations
  • Breathing techniques and relaxation methods
  • Optional hands-on adjustments (which you may decline)

You have the right to refuse any instruction or adjustment that doesn't feel appropriate for your body. The instructor's guidance is offered as suggestions, not requirements.

Pregnancy and Special Populations

Pregnant Students

If you are pregnant, recently gave birth, or are nursing, please:

  • Obtain clearance from your healthcare provider before practicing
  • Inform your instructor of your pregnancy status
  • Avoid certain poses and breathing techniques as advised
  • Consider prenatal-specific classes when available

Students with Injuries or Conditions

If you have any injuries, chronic conditions, or physical limitations, you must inform your instructor and may need to modify or avoid certain poses. Consider working with a qualified healthcare provider or seeking private instruction for specialized guidance.
